Our Best Bites Cookbook Giveaway

Our Best Bites

The sweet ladies behind Our Best Bites sent me a copy of their new cookbook to review.  Before the book ever arrived at my house I knew I would love it.  I think I have shared about 20 of their posts with you on my blog in the past year and I have loved every single recipe that I have tried.  LOVED!

Remember the chocolate chip cookie pie:

 

I mean what is not to love!

For every recipe that I have tried, my sister-in-law has tried ten.  My favorite that she recommended to me was Spicy Honey Chicken:


Which you have for dinner and make extra so that you can have this salad the next day for lunch:


The first recipe I tried out from the new cookbook was the Vegetarian Black Bean Taquitos.


I had some cilantro lime ranch dressing left over from dinner the night before and thought this would be the perfect way to use them up.  And I was right.  I will be sharing this  recipe with you later this week.

Recipes are obviously the most important piece of a great cookbook, but next to that the Rollover Ingredients Index has to be my favorite part.  These girls have listed all of the ingredients that you will have left over from a recipe and give you a list of other recipes in their cookbook that will use them up!  Now you won't have to throw out the rest of that fresh basil or dump buttermilk down the drain.  It is the perfect way to help you save money and a great way to plan your grocery list.

And I won't even tell you how much I love the bookmark, because I am probably the only person that unintentionally closes my cookbook a dozen times while trying to make dinner.

Honestly, the only thing I think I would change about the cookbook is the cover. It is super cute, but every time I pull it out to use is my 3-year-old thinks we are making cupcakes.

    My favorite OBB recipe (and I have tried A LOT of them) is the Nachitoches Meat Pies. Made them last night for Mardi Gras...along with their Beignets. I also love their taquitos, their sloppy joes, their french dip sandwiches (I could go on forever!!). Their blog is my go to for meals. I'd love a cookbook!

    They've got some great recipes and cute ideas. I made their baked zucchini fries last weekend and they were scrumptious (especially dipped in a little ranch dressing).

    Plus, that glass block holiday jell-o keeps catching my eye. It would be the perfect addition to an art awareness lesson I'm planning for my son's class. Now, if I were only adept at handling the stuff.

    Really, who can't make jell-o, right? Sadly, so wrong in my case.
